John serves as Of Counsel in the Firm's Long Island office in Farmingdale, New York. His practice focuses on providing general counsel and labor counsel to school districts and municipalities in diverse areas of law, including municipal, education, labor, employment, civil rights and contract. He regularly assists clients with discrimination complaints and personnel matters, including personnel investigations, labor and employment counseling and civil rights issues. Prior to joining the Firm, John was a Principal Assistant County Attorney with the Suffolk County Department of Law, where he advocated on behalf of the County and its agencies in matters involving contract disputes, employment and labor law issues, and municipal law. He recently served as a Senior Litigation Associate at a negligence and labor law firm on Long Island. John also previously served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to Empire/Allcity Insurance Group, where he counselled the Board of Directors, CEO and other officers in myriad areas of law including corporate governance and best practices. John is an experienced litigator who has handled cases involving contract disputes, employment, civil rights, civil service, municipal law and Article 78 petitions, labor law, negligence and personal injury. He has frequently appeared on behalf of employers and other clients before state and federal courts during all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial, and has authored and argued appeals before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court. John has also represented employers in matters before the EEOC, NYSDHR, NYCHRC and the DOL.
