Posted by Gregory J. Guercio | Sep 22, 2014 | 0 Comments

Chapter 205 of the Laws of 2014 amended the Social Services Law to expand the list of persons responsible for reporting cases of suspected child abuse to include a “full-time or part-time compensated school employee required to hold a temporary coaching license or professional coaching certificate”. The amendment will be effective on July 1, 2015. The legislation also added a new Section 3036 to the Education Law which requires all individuals currently holding or applying for a temporary coaching license or professional coaching certificate to complete two hours of training regarding the identification and reporting of child abuse and maltreatment.
