La Wanda Williams-Isreal

La Wanda Williams-Isreal is a veteran litigator with a strong appreciation for alternative dispute resolution. She applies a comprehensive approach to advocacy that advances the needs of her clients. La Wanda has been affiliated with Guercio & Guercio since 2019, yet her experience in Education Law began in 2006. As an Education Law attorney, La Wanda ensures that her clients comply with state and federal laws while meeting the social and academic needs of children. 

La Wanda represents school districts in proceedings pursuant to Education Law § 3020-a and Civil Service Law § 75. She also defends districts against employee grievances. In addition, La Wanda worked at The City University of New York where she conducted Title IV investigations and conducted training on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Gender Discrimination. She often reported directly to the president while working at The City University of New York. La Wanda's professional experience also includes defending clients against complaints filed with the New York State Division of Human Rights.

La Wanda co-created a continuing legal education course entitled Winning Your Case at the Deposition: Effective Tools for the Successful Litigator when she was a member of the Tort Litigation Committee for the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. La Wanda also engages in community services as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and as Director of the Young Entrepreneurs Training Program.   

La Wanda received a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
