Matthew Mehnert

Matthew is a partner in the Firm focusing on litigation in the areas of labor, employment, civil rights, municipal and education law. He regularly assists clients with discrimination complaints, personnel matters, including personnel investigations, day-to-day labor and employment counseling and civil rights issues. He also has experience in litigation involving contracts, torts, wage and hour compliance and class actions. Matthew routinely represents employers, both public and private, in matters before the EEOC, SDHR, NYCHRC, NLRB and the DOL. He regularly appears on behalf of employers before various state and federal courts during all phases of litigation, including trial, and has authored appeals before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuit, the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court for the Second Judicial Department and the National Labor Relations Board. Matthew also has significant experience in matters involving New York CPLR Articles 75 and 78. In addition, Matthew has been a presenter on several labor and employment topics, including 1983 litigation, employment discrimination, municipal immunity and the hearing process relating to the receipt of unemployment insurance benefits.
