Guercio & Guercio LLP is pleased to announce that John H. Gross has joined the firm.
Mr. Gross brings more than forty years of distinguished legal experience representing school districts, colleges, nonprofit organizations, and municipalities throughout New York State and across the country. A graduate of the Cornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations and Cornell Law School, Mr. Gross concentrates his practice in municipal law, education law, public sector labor law, employment law, and corporate matters.

Throughout his career, Mr. Gross has maintained an active litigation and appellate practice, regularly appearing before the Commissioner of Education, teacher tenure discharge tribunals, the New York State Division of Human Rights, arbitration panels, state and federal courts, and the New York State Public Employment Relations Board. He has negotiated numerous labor contracts and has represented chief school officers, including the Chancellor of the City School District of the City of New York and superintendents of large urban school districts nationwide.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Gross has been a respected educator and lecturer, teaching courses in education law, collective bargaining, and labor law. He has served as an adjunct professor at New York University and as a faculty member of Cornell University's Industrial and Labor Relations Program in New York City.
Mr. Gross has also demonstrated a long-standing commitment to the legal profession through extensive leadership in bar associations. He previously served as President of the Suffolk County Bar Association and has held numerous leadership roles within the New York State Bar Association, including Vice President for the Tenth Judicial District. He was appointed by former New York State Chief Judge Judith Kaye as a founding member of the New York State Judicial Institute on Professionalism in the Law, where he continues to serve on the board. Mr. Gross is currently Treasurer of the New York State Fair Trial Free Press Conference and serves as counsel to the Suffolk County Bar Association. He has also represented the New York State Bar Association and remains an active member of the Suffolk, Nassau, and Westchester County Bar Associations.
